Stornetta and Haber acknowledged by Satoshi Nakomoto

Dr. Scott Stornetta

Dr. Scott Stornetta is one of the two founding fathers of the blockchain concept. With his working partner, Dr. Stuart Haber, he developed the idea in 1991, describing it in peer-reviewed journals, and taking out a number of patents. When Satoshi Nakomoto wrote his famous Bitcoin white paper, he referenced Drs Haber and Stornetta.

Dr. Stornetta currently holds the post of Chief Scientist at First Digital Capital, a leading financial investment firm. His role is to evaluate Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs) which are used by technology companies seeking to raise funds. He also assesses those firms that offer products or services based on blockchain technology.

Malta aiming for global blockchain pre-eminence

The government of Malta has a strategy to make Malta a key hub in the world of blockchain technology and development, attracting start-ups and other businesses that are leaders in the field. Dr. Stornetta is impressed by how effective the government’s strategy has been to date. He is coming to the conference to support Malta in its quest for pre-eminence in the blockchain industry. Attendees at the summit are looking forward to Dr. Stornetta’s keynote address which he promises will be insightful, valuable and entertaining.

A summit mixing business and blockchain has a fun side too !

The summit itself is a mix of serious business and lighter moments. On the business side there will be an exhibition floor, four conferences, an ICO pitch and a blockchain awards ceremony. On the fun side, a two day Hackathon and a crypto cruise – sounds intriguing!

It’s all happening at the Intercontinental in Malta on 1st and 2nd November.
